Crows fans have ranked Rory Sloane’s ‘tackle of the century’ as the third-best Play of the Year for 2014.

Sloane hunted down Port Adelaide’s Sam Gray on the western wing of Adelaide Oval in the dying moments of the Club’s Round 15 Showdown win.

Sloane, who ranked 7th in the AFL for total tackles with 147 for the season, brought his opponent to ground with a team-lifting tackle and was rewarded with a holding the ball free kick.

2014 marked another fantastic season for the 2013 Crows Club Champion.

The Crows joint vice-captain finished a close runner-up to winner Daniel Talia in this year’s Malcolm Blight Medal count, and was one of three Crows to reach double figures in the 2014 Brownlow Medal.

One of the Club’s most popular players, Sloane also won the 19th Man Award and the Fans' MVP award in recognition of his outstanding 2014 season.
