Defender Brent Reilly will have scans early next week to determine the extent of a shoulder injury.

Reilly, 29, dislocated his right shoulder after landing with his arm outstretched in the opening minute of Adelaide’s clash with Gold Coast at Metricon Stadium on Saturday. The 2012 All Australian nominee was helped from the ground by Club medical staff and was immediately substituted out of the game.

Coach Brenton Sanderson said the Club would have a prognosis of the injury in the coming days.

“It was a nasty dislocation, but I’m not sure how long that will keep him out for. It’ll depend on any other ligament damage,” Sanderson said after the game.

“It’s a shame because he’s had a couple of setbacks this year. We left him out of the side (against Richmond), but he was up and ready to play today.

“It’s another setback and challenge he’ll have to overcome.”
