Crows ruckman Sam Jacobs continues to fly the Fantasy flag for Adelaide after notching the second-best AFL Fantasy score of his career against the Giants.

Jacobs amassed 130 points at Spotless Stadium from 25 hit-outs, 22 possessions, nine marks and a goal. It was the former Carlton rookie’s best score since Round 22, 2011 where he posted an incredible 146 points against Gold Coast in his first year as a Crow.

He was the top-scoring ruckman of the competition for Round Eight and has now notched a hat-trick of Fantasy tons. A big challenge awaits however on Saturday night against Fremantle’s Aaron Sandilands, but it’s hard not to back ‘Sauce’ in on his current form.

Patrick Dangerfield cemented his spot as Adelaide’s top-scoring Crow of the season with another 110 points against GWS.

Injuries and fluctuating form made for an inconsistent Fantasy year for ‘Danger’ in 2014. But he’s bounced back to his best so far this season, averaging 103 points across all eight games.

Saturday’s total was his fifth ton of 2015, bringing his overall price up to $542,000. With a break even of 88, Dangerfield’s value should rise again this weekend against the Dockers.

By the numbers: Round Eight

The captain continues to be one of Adelaide’s most improved Fantasy performers this season.

Taylor Walker chalked his second ton in three games with 115 points from 18 disposals, four goals and a game-high 11 marks. It was his second-best total behind his monster 146-point effort from Round One.

‘Tex’ placed fourth of all pure forwards for points scored in Round Eight and remains the most popular Crow in attack with over 20,000 AFL Fantasy selections.

Ball magnet Matt Crouch is an emerging player to keep on your Fantasy wish list.

The tough 20-year-old has made the most of his opportunity in the past two weeks with scores of 84 and 88 after plying his trade in the SANFL for the first three rounds.

He averaged over 30 possessions across 10 State League games in his first year at the Club in 2014 and looks back to his best after an interrupted summer.

Crouch is generously priced at $361,000 and should remain in the senior side at least in the short term given his good form and Adelaide’s recent injury woes. With a break even of just 45 this week, he’s worth a punt.

Fellow left-footer Mitch Grigg’s Fantasy stocks are also rising.

The dual-position FWD/MID has been ultra consistent since returning to the senior side in Round Six. He’s scored 83, 89 and 87 in his past three outings and has added $55k to his value along the way.

Grigg is still well priced at just $328,000 and will take an achievable break even of 20 into Saturday night’s Indigenous Round clash with the Dockers. If you need a quick cash injection but also need some flexibility, Grigg could be your man.
