Only three weeks after his AFL swansong, Michael Doughty is coming out of retirement.

No, Doughty hasn’t reconsidered his decision to call time on a decorated career at Adelaide.

Instead, the 33-year-old will line up alongside several mates for the Banks Bulldogs in the Northern Territory Football League on Sunday.

Banks, who are playing a four-game trial in the NTFL's Premier League, will take on the Wanderers at Gardens Oval.

Doughty retired after Adelaide’s narrow Preliminary Final loss to Hawthorn last month. The veteran of 231 games finished his career on a high, taking out eighth spot in the Crows Club Champion award.

He will also enjoy a well-earned holiday during his stay in the NT.
