South Australians Jess Allan and Eloise Jones have been named in the 2017 AFL Women’s Under-18 All Australian team.

Allan, younger sister of Crows AFLW premiership player Sarah, was named starting ruck and vice-captain, with Jones named on the half-forward flank.

The 17-year-olds both lined up with Glenelg in the inaugural season of the SANFLW competition and are part of the Crows’ Girls High Performance squad.

Allan was also the recipient of the Ladder Champion Award, presented by youth homelessness charity Ladder to the player who displayed attributes on and off the field that align with Ladder's values, including commitment and passion to the team.

She is the first female player to earn the award, with Oliver Florent, now with Sydney, winning last year's award.

The All Australian team was named after the Under-18 Victoria-Allies curtain-raiser to the NAB AFLW State of Origin match on Saturday night at Etihad Stadium. Victoria defeated the Allies in the Under-18 clash by 10 points, 6.10 (46) to 5.6 (36).

Both Allan and Jones are expected to be selected in the NAB AFL Women’s Draft in Melbourne on October 18.
