Adelaide has re-signed three more talented young players at West Lakes with Tariek Newchurch, James Borlase and Patrick Parnell all extending their contracts for 2022.

Newchurch and Borlase remain Category B rookies after they were drafted from the Club’s Next Generation Academy last year, while Parnell retains his spot on the rookie list after he was selected by the Crows in the AFL’s mid-season draft.

Exciting forward Newchurch kicked 22 goals in the SANFL this season including two three-goal hauls against Woodville-West Torrens and South Adelaide.

Key defender Borlase also made significant progress at State League level and finished runner-up in Adelaide’s SANFL Club Champion Award behind winner Kieran Strachan.

Running defender Parnell joined the Crows from Albury in NSW in June and he played 10 games in the second half of the season where he impressed with his ball-use and play-making ability.

Adelaide General Manager List Management and Strategy Justin Reid said he was looking forward to seeing their continued development next year.

“All three have taken big steps towards an AFL career this season,” Reid said.

“We are pleased with their development and are excited by what Tariek and James can produce next year with another AFL pre-season behind them, and in Patrick’s case after his first."
