Young Adelaide midfielder Harry Schoenberg has returned to West Lakes with eyes already locked on a big 2022 season.

Adelaide’s players returned from their Christmas break on Monday and hit the track under a beaming 36 degree sun.

Now in his third season at the Club, the 20-year-old says he is ready for his side to take another step forward this season.

“I’m really looking forward to the new season,” Schoenberg told AFC Media.

“It’s a good opportunity for us to take another step forward as a Club.

“With another year under our belt, the young boys are really starting to gel and we’ve added experience with Jordan Dawson - along with Matt Crouch and Wayne Milera both returning.”

Schoenberg enjoyed a breakout season in 2021, playing every game en route to an average of 18.3 touches and 3.6 tackles.

The No. 26 also added goals to his game, booting 10 across 22 matches.

“I’m loving my time at West Lakes,” he said.

“Ever since I’ve arrived, I’ve loved the Club and everyone who is a part of it.

“My main goal is just to keep getting better and hopefully take another step forward with the team.”

Outside of football, Schoenberg enjoyed a trip to Blanchetown on the river over the break after giving his dad a helping hand in harvest.

“We went up there (Blanchetown) as a family over Christmas and stayed for two weeks,” he said.

“Did plenty of fishing, yabbying… had a great time away.”
