The combination of a Showdown win and the team colours was enough to entice two Colombians to support the Adelaide Crows.

Nicolas Castillo Lara and his girlfriend Andrea Carolina Pico Meneses, who are studying in Melbourne, were visiting Adelaide last July when they watched the Crows win their clash with Port Adelaide.

The exciting result – and the colour match with Colombia’s flag – sparked an admiration that has developed to the stage where they have been regular supporters at Adelaide games in Melbourne this season.

And during a recent trip home, they woke early to watch Crows games on the AFL app.

“Our favourite players are Eddie Betts and Charlie Cameron,” said Nicolas, who is from Colombia’s capital city Bogota and cheers the Crows in Spanish.

“And some times we swear because the referee, injustice, mistakes or something like that.”

The couple will be at the MCG again this Sunday when the Crows play Carlton in AFL Multicultural Round.
