Adelaide forward Justine Mules says finishing the minor rounds strongly is the side’s focus ahead of its Round 10 clash against St Kilda.

The Crows will travel to Melbourne to take on the Saints on Sunday in the last game before finals kick off.

Although Adelaide has already secured a finals appearance, Mules said players were hungry to get their ninth victory and fine tune structures ahead of the major round.

“(We want) a win, obviously,” Mules said.

“It’s a final game to make sure we are really concreting our structures and making sure we are finalising everything before the finals.

“There’s still one more game in the minor season, so it’s about making sure we get the job done.”

“(We want) a win, obviously.

A triumph against the Saints would all-but secure Adelaide a top-two finish and a week off before a preliminary final.

The Crows are in contention for the minor premiership but, speaking to the media on Wednesday, Mules said players were only focusing on what they could control.

“Obviously it is there in background noise,” Mules said.

“We are not focused on what the overall percentage (is) or how many points we score during the game, our object is to get the win and that’s what we are focused on doing.

“Coming to training with the mindset that we’ve still got Round 10 to go, St Kilda is our competitor for the weekend.

“That’s our drive, really, we don’t worry about the next couple of weeks.”

St Kilda enters the game having won only two matches this season but Mules believes the Saints will still pose a threat on Sunday.

“Overall they are still a relatively young side, they’ve got some really great competitors,” Mules said.

“Our style of football is fast and reactive, so if that’s their game style, we’ll be able to counteract that.

“We’ve got to go out there and make sure we beat St Kilda.”

Adelaide plays St Kilda at RSEA Park on Sunday at 12.40pm (ACDT).
