Adelaide winger Eloise Jones will be unavailable for selection for the Crows’ Preliminary Final after a one-match suspension was upheld.

Jones was seeking to have a rough conduct charge downgraded to careless conduct, low impact and high contact during a Tribunal Hearing on Wednesday afternoon.

The incident, which occurred with St Kilda’s Tilly Lucas-Rodd during the final seconds of the last quarter in Sunday’s match, was initially assessed as careless conduct, medium impact and high contact.

It was classified as a one-match sanction as a first offence and the AFL Tribunal agreed with the MRP grading  of the original charge.

Jones will now miss Adelaide’s Preliminary Final, which will be played against the winner of the Semi-Final between Fremantle and North Melbourne.

Crows Head of Women’s Football Phil Harper said the Club was disappointed with the result and would now ensure Jones was supported.

“We thought we put forward a compelling case but the tribunal didn’t rule in our favour and  we accept the umpire’s decision on this one,” Harper said.
