As player and coach movements continues to rise, talent management becomes an ever-increasing staple of the AFL business landscape

Despite only being halfway through the season, agents are already planning their moves ahead of the draft and free agency.

Collingwood premiership player Craig Kelly - who is now Chief Executive Officer of TLA Australia - will be instrumental in facilitating moves.

“Our job [for coaches] is to seek out what they’re looking for - someone with experience, no experience, what the list is like…” Kelly told FootyPlus, brought to you by Toyota.

“We’ll analyse that with the coach and say, do you want to go for the job.”

TEAM NEWS: Crows face Richmond unchanged

Former Norwood coach Peter Rohde, who represents 10 players including Wayne Milera, said the players need a manager - especially for the hard times.

“When players get drafted, play their first game and have some success, you don’t really need a manager much then,” Rhode said.

“But you need a manager when you get injured, when things aren’t going well, when you’re not getting picked.

“If you’re being delisted or changing clubs that’s when you really need a manager.”
