Adelaide Senior Coach Matthew Clarke says earning the right to play in a home Grand Final is the product of hardwork and plenty of sacrifice.

The Crows beat Fremantle by 14 points at Adelaide Oval on Saturday to book their place in a second consecutive flag decider.

They will play Melbourne at Adelaide Oval next Saturday after the Demons triumphed over Brisbane in their Preliminary Final.

Speaking to the media post-game, Clarke said he could not be prouder of his side but the team understood the work was not done yet.

“We are ecstatic,” Clarke said.

“To be able to bring a Grand Final back here and to be able to play in front of the members and supporters is just awesome.

“It was high emotions, as it should be. It’s not every day that you get to play in a Grand Final.

“There’s a bucket load of work that goes into getting there and they’ve worked unbelievably hard for a very long time, so we are very proud of them.”

Skipper Chelsea Randall’s ability to lead the defensive unit (12 intercepts) and Sarah Allan's pressure at ground level against the Dockers also impressed the coach.

“I thought the whole defence was really good,” Clarke said.

“But I think Chelsea Randall’s game was one out of the box.

“She has had a frustrating season, really challenging, she’s been interrupted all the way through.

“For her to be able to put that all to one side and come out and play the way that she did was massive.

“We’re really happy for her.”

The AFLW Grand Final will be hosted at Adelaide Oval on Saturday, April 9, at 12pm and Clarke encouraged all Crows fans to get to the game.

“People are getting used to coming back to the footy in a post-Covid environment,” Clarke said.

“We’d love to get as many as we can here.

“It was a good crowd here today, you could hear the noise and the excitement and a Grand final is something a little bit extra.”
