Football fans across South Australia will get their chance to celebrate Adelaide’s 2022 AFLW flag win when the Premiership Cup hits the road this month.

The Crows’ AFLW Premiership Cup Tour will begin in Port Lincoln on Thursday, May 12, before travelling to Mount Gambier, Port Pirie, Port Augusta, Roxby Downs, Whyalla , APY Lands and a number of locations across metropolitan Adelaide.

Adelaide is working in partnership with the SANFL and local Crows Supporter Groups to create memorable opportunities for local communities in each location, with details to be confirmed in the coming weeks.

Premiership players including Sarah Allan, Anne Hatchard and Marijana Rajcic, will accompany the Cup to schools and football clubs in May, June and July.

Crows Cup Carnivals, the inter-schoolgirls football competition aimed at encouraging participants to give football a go in a fun and safe environment, will also host the Cup at their events.

All-Australian defender Sarah Allan said the Tour was a great opportunity for the players to say thank you to the football community.

“The support we have received, not just since winning this Premiership but over the past six years, has been overwhelming,” Allan said.

“Our competition has gone from strength to strength and that wouldn’t be possible without the support of Members and fans across the state who have gotten behind us and grown in numbers every season.

“It is especially important to be able to take the Cup to so many regional areas where the numbers of women and girls playing football is growing quickly.

“I’m from the South-East and having the opportunity to take the Cup back to my Club who were such an important part of my football journey is going to be really special.

“Hopefully this tour can play a part in inspiring the next generation of South Australian football stars.”
