Adelaide forward Josh Rachele will be tested at the Crows’ main training session on Wednesday before a decision on his availability to play West Coast this weekend.

Rachele was subbed out of the Round 10 loss to St Kilda with a corked thigh and missed the Round 11 game against Geelong.

High Performance Manager Darren Burgess said Rachele was still recovering from the injury and would be assessed in coming days.

“Josh had a pretty severe cork that caused him to be subbed out of the game against St Kilda, and he missed the Geelong game,” Burgess said.

“He’s presented OK, there was some significant bleeding with the cork so we just need to manage that and make sure it doesn’t become a more serious issue.

“He has a bit of a history with corkies as a junior so he’ll be assessed this week, hopefully he will get through training tomorrow and play but we aren’t too sure at this stage.”

Key defender Jordon Butts will miss the Eagles’ clash due to the AFL’s concussion protocols and small defender Luke Brown has been ruled out due to health and safety protocols.

“Buttsy has reported really well from his concussion, he’s going through the protocols and he will be fine to complete a fair bit of training next week and be available for our first game out of the bye,” Burgess said.

Key forward Taylor Walker is set to exit health and safety protocols and train on Wednesday ahead of selection for the Eagles clash at Adelaide Oval.

“Tex is out of the health and safety protocols at the end of today, so he’ll complete main training tomorrow and we expect him to be available but it does depend on how he comes out of the protocols,” Burgess said.
