Crows three-time Premiership midfielder Ebony Marinoff has resisted lucrative rival offers by extending her contract with Adelaide for another two years.

Marinoff will now remain at West Lakes until at least the end of Season Eight after pledging her commitment to the Club on Wednesday.

The 24-year-old, who was selected by Adelaide with its first pick at the 2016 AFLW Draft, was elevated to the Crows’ leadership group this past season.

Marinoff said the Club was like her ‘second-home’ and she wanted to be part of Adelaide’s future.

“It’s so exciting to be able to be part of this great Club for another two years,” Marinoff said.

“The Crows have always invested in women’s footy and have done everything they can to create an environment where we, as players, can thrive.

“I’ve loved every minute of my time here since I walked through the doors at the age of 17 and I really believe we are primed to have more success.”

Amazingly, Marinoff has not missed a game since making her debut in Adelaide’s first AFLW match in 2017 and along the way amassed a long list of personal achievements.

She won the competition’s inaugural Rising Star award and was one of the first AFLW players to reach the 50-game milestone.

The South Australian is a four-time AFLW All Australian, Club best and fairest winner, and featured in the Crows’ 2017, 2019 and 2022 Premiership teams, as well as the 2021 Grand Final loss to Brisbane.

Crows Head of Women’s Football Phil Harper said Marinoff was a star of the competition after finishing in the top three of the Club Champion award every season.

“Ebony is such a consistent performer and she is always working hard with a desire to continually improve,” Harper said.

“She joined our leadership group this past season, leading by example on the field, at training and by taking players under her wing to help them get better.

“We are so pleased that she will continue to contribute in all those areas for at least another two years.”
