Adelaide’s three-time AFLW Premiership Captain Chelsea Randall has signed a contract extension and will remain a Crow until at least the end of Season Eight.

Randall, who helped guide the Crows to Premierships in 2017, 2019 and 2022, was already contracted for Season Seven but opted to extend.

She is one of the Club’s most decorated players having been a three-time premiership captain, three-time All-Australian including as captain in 2018, and been judged the AFLW’s most courageous player four times.

Randall, who this week became a development coach with Adelaide’s AFL side, said she was proud to be a Crow for another two seasons.

She said she was looking forward to continuing to steer the next generation at West Lakes towards sustained success.

“I feel so privileged to have helped this Club grow and to have been a part of the success we have achieved so far,” Randall said.

“I can’t wait to continue being part of the journey here and to support my teammates on and off the field.

“We have exceptional talent but also exceptional individuals here at the Club and I know we are well placed for sustained success.

“I’m looking forward to Season Seven kicking off with all 18 Clubs involved.”

“We have exceptional talent but also exceptional individuals here at the Club.

The 30-year-old, who has played 38 AFLW games, formed part of Adelaide’s inaugural side and quickly cemented herself as a star of the competition.

She co-captained the Crows to the 2017 flag, was nominated by her teammates for the

AFLW Players’ Most Valuable Player Award and was named in the All-Australian team that same year.

Randall also claimed the 2017 AFLW Players' Most Courageous Award.

In 2018, Randall picked up more accolades including Adelaide’s AFLW Club Champion Award and captain of the All-Australian side.

The tough defender went on to co-captain the Crows to their second Premiership in 2019 but missed the 2020 campaign after tearing her ACL in pre-season.

She returned in 2021 and became the Crows sole captain, leading the side to another successful season, finishing as the minor premier.

In a devastating blow, Randall missed the 2021 Grand Final against Brisbane due to concussion but returned in 2022 to skipper the side to the Premiership win against Melbourne.

Crows Head of Women’s Football Phil Harper said Randall was a key driving force behind the side’s strong culture and was integral to where the team was heading.

“We are thrilled to have Chelsea extend her contract with us, as she has been a key driver of our women’s program over the past six years,” Harper said.

“The leadership and care Chelsea brings to our team and our club cannot be underestimated.

“She is not only a talented footballer but an outstanding  person and we are thrilled to have Chelsea extend her contract with us.”
