Adelaide has named four inclusions to its extended 26-man squad for the Round 14 match against Gold Coast.

Key defender Jordon Butts returns to the side after a challenging month, which included a concussion sustained against Geelong, and a week off due to the AFL’s health and safety protocols.

Young forward Josh Rachele has been named in the forward pocket after missing the last two matches due to a corked thigh.

Adelaide senior assistant coach Scott Burns said the Crows were keen to get Rachele back in the side.

“He obviously had some really good form early in the season,” Burns said on Wednesday.

“He’s freshened up, he really looks like he’s running on top of the ground now as well, so we’re looking forward to him getting back in the team.

“It’s funny, when footy gets taken away from you, when you’re a young fella too, you miss one or two weeks, you’re pretty keen to get out there and play… and he certainly had a fair bit of enthusiasm today (Wednesday) at training.”

Elliott Himmelberg and Harry Schoenberg round out the inclusions with both named on the extended interchange.

Adelaide’s final 22-man team will be announced on Friday afternoon at 4.30pm ACST.

The Crows will face the Suns at Metricon Stadium on Sunday at 2.50pm ACST (3.20pm local).
