Chayce Jones showed why he was Adelaide’s first selection in the 2018 AFL Draft during the pre-season.

The Tasmanian enjoyed an outstanding JLT campaign, which secured him a Round One debut against Hawthorn.

The 19-year old booted a goal with his first kick at senior level and played four consecutive AFL matches to start the season.

He went on to play another four senior games, saving his best for last in the final round against the Western Bulldogs.

In between AFL stints, Jones played in the SANFL.

He impressed straight away, racking up 24 touches, eight clearances, five tackles, four inside 50s and a goal in his first SANFL match (Round Six).

Jones stood out in a number of SANFL matches, including in Round Eight against North (21 disposals and 10 clearances), Round 10 against the Bulldogs (27 disposals and nine marks) and Round 11 against Sturt (19 disposals and nine tackles).

Round 23 v Western Bulldogs

Jones was a shining light in what was a difficult end to the 2019 AFL season in Ballarat.

It was a lean first quarter for the Crows, who were held scoreless until Jones took a leaping mark over Hayden Crozier before converting his set shot.

He took another brilliant, contested mark in the goal square during the second quarter.

Jones finished the game with 18 disposals, seven marks, five inside 50s, four clearances, four tackles and two goals.
