Tyson Stengle returned home to Adelaide after two seasons with Richmond and the small forward impressed, topping Adelaide’s goalkicking tally in the SANFL.

The 20-year-old played 19 games in the State League and finished seventh overall in the Ken Farmer Medal with 30 home-and-away season goals.

After booting 25 goals in his first 10 games, he had to bide his time for a senior call-up and was finally selected to make his Club debut in Round 17 against Gold Coast.

In a lively performance he booted three majors, a career-best return.

A fortnight later, Stengle kicked two goals against Carlton.

He returned to the SANFL in the back end of the year and continued to hit the scoreboard, finishing with goals in all but three outings.
