Adelaide three-time Club Champion Rory Laird has been named in the AFL Players’ Association’s 22Under22 Team of the Decade.

On Thursday, the AFL Players’ Association announced the final team, which included Laird at full back.

All players previously selected in a 22Under22 final team were automatically added into the squad of 142 players, which was released last month.

Laird earned selection in the team in back-to-back seasons, (2015, 2016).

The now 29-year-old has, however, since turned into one of the competition’s premier midfielders.

He claimed the Crows’ Club Champion Award in 2022 for the third time after finishing the season with elite averages in disposals, handballs, tackles, clearances and fantasy points.

On two occasions last season, he surpassed 40 disposals in a single game - Round 14 against Gold Coast and Round 17 against Hawthorn, both with 42 touches.

Laird became the fourth Crow to win three Club Champion Awards - alongside Mark Ricciuto, Andrew McLeod and Simon Goodwin.
