Adelaide will be bolstered by a trio of key inclusions for its SANFL Preliminary Final against Sturt on Sunday.

AFL-listed duo Kieran Strachan and Andrew McPherson will make their first appearances of the finals series, after overcoming respective wrist and quad injuries.

Strachan has been a key contributor for the Crows this season, averaging 34.8 hit-outs, 16.2 disposals, 5.4 marks and 2.8 clearances per game, to earn selection in the 2023 Advertiser Team of the Year.

McPherson returns after an injury-plagued campaign, and will provide a welcome boost to Adelaide’s back six, having averaged 16.9 disposals from seven games.

Skipper Matthew Wright also comes back into the line-up, having missed last week’s Semi Final against Glenelg, due to suspension.

The Crows have named an extended squad of 25 for the do-or-die clash against the Double Blues, meaning they are yet to announce any omissions from last week’s team.

Development players Blayne O’Loughlin, Isaya McKenzie, Tate Coleman, Riley Clamp, Stephen Tahana, Jarman Sigal and Louis Sharrad make up the extended bench.

Three members of the extended bench will come out of the side and become emergencies.

Adelaide will be looking to book a place in its first SANFL Grand Final, having fallen at the Preliminary Final stage on three occasions in its nine-year history.

The Crows have recorded two victories over Sturt in the past month, including a gritty seven-point win in the Qualifying Final a fortnight ago.

Adelaides takes on Sturt in the SANFL Preliminary Final at Adelaide Oval this Sunday, with the first bounce at 3.15pm.
