Four Crows have been selected in the AFL Players’ Association AFLW 22Under22 squad.

The fan-voted award, recognises the best 22 players aged under 22 for the entirety of the AFLW season.

On Thursday, the AFL Players Association announced the 44-woman squad, which included Teah Charlton, Kiera Mueller, Madison Newman and Zoe Prowse.

Charlton, who was selected in the Season Six squad, played all 10 minor round games and averaged 14.8 disposals, 7.8 tackles and 3.2 clearances.

The 21-year-old forms part of a young midfield brigade helping the Crows’ quest for a historic fourth flag.

Newman, who was named in Season’ Seven’s squad, has taken her game to new heights in 2023 - averaging a career-best in disposals (18) and tackles (2.4) across 10 games.

Mueller entered her second AFLW campaign after playing just five games in Season Seven, but went on to feature in nine of the Crows’ matches in 2023.

The 20-year-old small defender earned a Rising Star Nomination, following the Crows’ 42-point win over the Western Bulldogs in Round Seven.

Mueller carved out an important role across half-back, averaging 9.6 disposals, 2.2 marks and 1.8 tackles per game.

In the absence of Vice Captain and defender Sarah Allan for much of the season due to a hamstring injury, Prowse stepped up, becoming a key cog in the Crows’ backline.

Prowse, 20, is also notching career-best statistics, averaging 10 disposals, 2.3 tackles, 3.1 spoils and 1.6 intercept marks across nine matches. 

Fans will have the opportunity to vote for the four young Crows stars to be selected in the final 22Under22 team.

Voting is open from Thursday, November 9, until Wednesday, November 15.
