Three-time Adelaide AFLW Premiership star Ebony Marinoff is tipping a young teammate to be one to watch in the 2024 AFLW season.
The Crows’ pre-season kicked off earlier this month with a trip to Cairns, ahead of their campaign starting in August.
Speaking on Crows Chat with Noffy and Thomo, the two-time Club Champion winner said Zoe Prowse had impressed during both the off-season and pre-season.
“My housemate Zoe Prowse, she won the gold medal for pre-pre-season,” Marinoff said.
“She actually gave me some credit (for her solid pre-season).
“I said ‘I’ll take (20 per cent) and she gave me 60.”
Prowse had the big job of filling the boots of three-time All Australian Defender Sarah Allan in 2023, who was sidelined for much of the season with a hamstring strain.
And the 20-year-old stamped her mark in the Crows’ backline, averaging
5.75 intercepts, 7.1 contested possessions and 10.2 disposals across eight games.
Marinoff was expecting Prowse to take her game to another level this year and joked she had helped the youngster excel.
“I’ve made her eat and get a bit more out of her training and her habits,” Marinoff said.
“I get some credit for it and she actually gave me more credit than I gave myself.
“She’s taken home the gold medal, so Zoe Prowse, our No.4, long, blonde, curly hair, if you’re out there and you’re a selector for 2024 AFLW Rising Star, look out.”
Adelaide will open its 2024 AFLW campaign with a Showdown under lights at Alberton Oval on August 31.
