Crows forward Taylor Walker and Power young gun Jason Horne-Francis have been put under the microscope to begin Showdown week.

Triple M Adelaide’s Breakfast team brought the pair together to chat all things footy ahead of the big game.

The conversation quickly turned to hypotheticals, as they were both asked which players from the opposition team they would like to line up alongside.

“I’d have you (Jason Horne-Francis), (Zak) Butters and (Mitch) Georgiadies because he puts on a good party from my understanding,” Walker said.

“While you and Butters, because we need to not let you get a kick this weekend against us, because you are both very good.”

Horne-Francis was quick to bring up the Showdown record of his partner in the studio as he revealed the three Crows players he’d like on his side.

“Tex has kicked four against us the last couple of times I reckon, so he would be good to have,” Horne-Francis said.

“Daws (Jordan Dawson) would be good, I really enjoy watching him play, and then maybe Izak (Rankine) to finish it off as well.”

Showdown week brings about a different build-up for the players from both sides, as they experience the spotlight of being in a two-team town.

Walker likened the experience of playing in Showdowns to finals football.

“The build-up is a little bit different to a regular home and away game,” Walker said.

“That’s purely because it does not matter where either team is on the ladder, the game will always be close.

“It’s very much like finals, it’s hot, the intensity is always up and it’s going to be a very hostile crowd being Port’s Showdown, which is something I really enjoy.

“The stage is set for a very, very good game.”

That sentiment was mirrored by Horne-Francis, who said the game means that little bit more than a standard home and away contest.

“It is like a finals game, the pressure just lifts,” Horne-Francis said.

“The atmosphere is a little bit different and the feel of the game is a little bit different.

“We are really looking forward to what is set to be a great contest.”

Adelaide faces Port Adelaide in Showdown 57 this Saturday night, with the first bounce at 7.40pm (ACST).
