Adelaide defender Rory Laird will return to the side for its blockbuster clash against reigning premier Brisbane at Adelaide Oval on Friday night.
As revealed by the Club earlier on Thursday, Laird has earned a recall after being managed for last weekend’s game against Sydney at the SCG.
Head of Football Adam Kelly said Laird was fresh and ready to go for this weekend’s game.
“Lairdy was excellent in the weeks leading up to our game against the Swans and comes back into the line up after being managed,” Kelly said.
“As we have acknowledged, with 14 games straight into our bye, we have been conscious to manage the playing group in an attempt to maintain performance.
“At times that will be management during the week and at other times, as has been the case with Tex and Lairdy, it will result in a weekend off.”
First-year Crow Sid Draper has been omitted.
Chris Burgess, Zac Taylor, and Hugh Bond have been named as the emergencies.
The Crows will name their substitute one hour before the first bounce.
Adelaide’s match against Brisbane will also mark the second SA Freeze event, hosted to help raise funds for the FightMND cause.
Coleman Medallist Tony Modra, AFL Premiership player and Brownlow Medallist Mark Ricciuto, as well as three-time AFLW flag winner and reigning League Best and Fairest Ebony Marinoff will take the icy plunge as part of the event.
Crows fans are encouraged to help raise vital funds for MND research and care initiatives by purchasing a Big Freeze 11 beanie.
They can be purchased when buying a ticket to the match against the Lions and will also be available to buy from the South, East and North gates at Adelaide Oval on the night.
Adelaide faces Brisbane at Adelaide Oval on Friday, June 6, at 7.10pm.
