Numbered guernseys signed by every Adelaide AFL player to have worn the jumper since 1991 will be auctioned during the bye.

Eighteen guernseys are in the online auction, including the popular No.9, signed front and back by 300-gamer Tyson Edwards, two-time Club Champion Rory Sloane, original Crow Bruce Lindner, Kym Koster, Tony Hall and Nick Murray.

Adelaide’s Past Players and Officials Board is running the exclusive sale through Official Memorabilia Auctions, to support the PP&O’s welfare fund.

Adelaide PP&O chairman Sam Jacobs said it was an opportunity for fans, collectors or businesses to secure a prized piece of memorabilia.

“It’s such a rare chance to own a guernsey with the signatures of every player to wear that number in the Club’s first 34 seasons. Imagine having that in your home or business,” said the former Crows ruckman, who wore No 24.

The No.12 guernsey has been signed by foundation Crow Simon Tregenza, Robert Shirley, 2014 Club Champion Daniel Talia and current captain Jordan Dawson. And the No 13 jumper is signed by Scott Lee, two-time premiership Crow Shane Ellen, Ben Hudson and Adelaide’s all-time leading goalkicker Taylor Walker.

Other numbers included in this auction are 11, 14, 15, 16, 19, 24, 27, 29, 33, 34, 36, 42, 44, 49 and 52, featuring inaugural Crows, premiership players, captains, Club Champions and All Australians.

Another batch of numbered guernseys will be auctioned later this year.

The PP&O has donated a full set to the Club to be kept and updated as new players debut.

“It’s been a huge task to get all the signatures, it is ten years since the project started,” Jacobs said.

“This is an important fundraising event for the PP&O as we look to build our welfare assistance fund, to allow us to continue to support former players and officials.

“It’s also a special thing to donate a set to our footy club. Their jumpers will be historical items that will get new signatures as players start their careers with the Crows.

“It’s a great way to honour and acknowledge all the players who have represented the club in the AFL and connects the past with the present.”
