Adelaide forward Luke Pedlar will be a test for the Crows’ clash against Melbourne this Sunday, as he continues to recover from a corked quad.
The 23-year-old suffered the injury during Adelaide’s Round 14 clash against Hawthorn, and the Club took the conservative approach in leaving him out of last week’s game against Richmond.
“Luke didn’t quite make it last week, he just had a little bit of awareness so we decided to hold him back a week,” Adelaide High Performance Manager Burgess said.
“We’re hopeful he’ll get through training and be available this week.”
Key forward Toby Murray has taken another step forward in his recovery from his ankle injury, returning to on-ground running last week.
He will undergo a period of reconditioning before being reintegrated back into main training.
“Toby Murray is running on field now which is great (and) we’re anticipating a period of about two weeks of reconditioning,” Burgess said.
“From there, we’ll reintegrate him back into training and he’ll be available shortly after that.”
Midfielder Matt Crouch is continuing to progress with his hip injury, and is eyeing a return to training next week.
“Crouchy’s doing a lot of running and a lot of work, he’ll be involved in some training next week and then hopefully in the two weeks following that,” Burgess said.
“It will be two-to-three weeks before we’ll see Crouchy.”
First-year Crow Tyler Welsh is back running after suffering a fractured toe, and will ramp-up his training as a return to the field nears.
“Tyler is running now and he is certainly about to go through a mountain of work across the next couple of weeks,” Burgess said.
“He’ll be somewhere around that three week mark away from playing.”
