The AFL Fans Association (AFLFA) is today launching its 2025 National Fan Survey, giving fans across Australia the opportunity to speak up and be heard on the issues that matter most to them, gathering genuine feedback from the people who make the game what it is: the fans.
From ticket prices and TV access to rule interpretations and the match day experience, the survey collects real feedback from real fans - and ensures those voices are taken directly to the AFL decision makers.
“It’s time to hear from the fans,” says Ron Issko, President AFLFA. “Supporters have strong opinions on everything from umpiring to seating, and this is a constructive way for those views to be heard. Your feedback is already making a difference - and the more fans who take part in the survey, the stronger our message becomes,” Ron says
The AFLFA regularly meets with the AFL to advocate for fan interests, and the survey results play a vital role in those discussions and shaping the future of the game. No matter where you live or how you follow the game, your voice matters - and this survey ensures it’s heard at the highest level.
Key topics fans can have their say on include:
- The shift away from free-to-air Saturday AFL coverage
- Ticketing fairness, access and affordability
- Umpiring consistency and rule interpretation
- Inclusivity and match day atmosphere
- Fixture scheduling and its impact on families and regional fans
Complete the Survey – and You Could Win $500
Fans who complete the survey by 30 July 2025 will go into the draw to win a $500 prize. The survey results will be shared later this season and presented directly to the AFL.

“We’re proud to be an independent voice for all fans - not just the loudest or closest to the action. We’re driven by the belief that together, we can make things better. This survey is about real solutions, fresh ideas and positive change - not just pointing out what’s wrong. Your voice matters, and we invite everyone to get involved and help shape a truly incredible experience for all fans,” said Ron.
