Allegiances will be split in the Walker household this week ahead of the Crows’ blockbuster Saturday night clash against Collingwood.
Walker’s youngest son, Louis, has pledged his support to Collingwood and Nick Daicos, after the Walker family spent time with the Magpies star on holiday in Fiji last year.
Since the trip, Louis has been seen wearing Collingwood guernseys, singing the song and declaring his favourite player is Daicos.
Speaking to Roo, Ditts and Loz on Triple M Adelaide Breakfast, Walker revealed the banter taking place in his house this week.
“The one that shall not be named, Louis, is a Collingwood supporter at the moment,” Walker said.
“So this week Hugo and I have been stirring him up, saying that we’re going to get Nick Daicos on Saturday night.
“He actually said to me if you get Nick Daicos this weekend I’m going to knock your block off.”
Walker and his Crows teammates will be looking to flip the script on Collingwood this weekend and record their first win against the Pies since 2016.
The 35-year-old said the group was well aware of the massive challenge that the third-placed Magpies would present this weekend.
“One of the good things that Murray Davis has brought in is when we do our opposition analysis, we plan as if they are going to bring their best and we’ll do that this weekend,” Walker said.
“Collingwood are still a bloody good side although they aren’t getting the results they want at the moment, we are going to plan as if they are going to bring their absolute best because we know they will.
“It would be an almighty effort for our footy club to get over the line this weekend, and we can’t wait for the challenge.”
Adelaide faces Collingwood at Adelaide Oval this Saturday night, with the first bounce at 7.05pm (ACST).
