Adelaide has released an extended squad of 24 for its Round Two clash against Geelong at Unley Oval on Sunday.

Five-time All-Australian Chelsea Randall returns to the side after missing last week’s match against the Saints due to a long-standing family commitment overseas - and will take her place at centre-half-forward.

Randall’s first appearance of the season will mark the 75th game of her AFLW career.

She is one of six inclusions to the Crows’ squad for their home opener against the Cats.

Three-time premiership player Stevie-Lee Thompson, Irishwoman Amy Boyle-Carr, and up and coming trio Kiera Mueller, Keeley Kustermann and Brooke Smith return to the squad.

All five have been named on the eight-person extended bench alongside Kayleigh Cronin, Brooke Boileau and Rachelle Martin

Hannah Munyard (ankle) and Teah Charlton (hamstring awareness) come out of the team due to injury, while Hannah Ewings has been omitted.

Adelaide AFLW Coach Matthew Clarke gave an update on Munyard and Charlton, who will both miss with injury.

“Unfortunately Hannah Munyard hurt her ankle and only got back to Adelaide mid this week, so she’ll be out for an extended period of time which is disappointing,” Clarke said.

“Also Teah Charlton came out of the game with some mild hamstring symptoms, nothing significant on the scans but she hasn’t been able to get up to full intensity in her training so she’s unavailable as well.”

The Crows will be looking to bounce back from their Round One defeat against the Saints when they welcome the Cats to Unley Oval on Sunday.

Clarke highlighted the two key areas his team would need to improve to get back on the winners’ list.

“Ultimately our contest/pressure was not at the level they needed to be, and our efficiency inside 50 was not good either,” Clarke said.

“We had 50 inside 50s and didn’t convert them into scores, so that’s not solely on the forward group, it’s about how we connect into that forward line and we would like to see some improvement in that.

“The primary issue we want to address is our pressure and contest numbers, so we’ve got some work to do.”
