Adelaide has made five changes for its Round Two clash against Geelong at Unley Oval.

As confirmed on Thursday evening, the return of three-time Premiership star Chelsea Randall headlines the inclusions.

Her first match of the 2025 season will mark the 75th of her AFLW career, a milestone Adelaide Head of AFLW Phil Harper said the Club could not wait to celebrate.

“I think everyone who has ever seen Chelsea play knows we missed her like nothing else last week, and you can always do with a Chelsea Randall in your side,” Harper said.

“You couldn’t get 75 better games than what Chelsea has produced, she’s been a great leader of our Club, and you couldn’t meet a better human which is the best part about her.

“We love her and we can’t wait to celebrate what she has done for both our Club and the game on Sunday.”

Fellow three-time Premiership Stevie-Lee Thompson will also make her first appearance of the season.

She will be joined in the side by young trio Amy Boyle-Carr, Keeley Kustermann and Kiera Mueller

Adelaide will not have Hannah Munyard and Teah Charlton available, with the pair suffering an ankle and hamstring injury, respectively.

Harper said all of the inclusions would bring some much-needed speed to the squad.

“Kiera Mueller is a good advertisement for the scrimmages, she played really well in the scrimmage match last week and we need a running defender so she’s in,” Harper said.

“It’s a bit the same with Stevie-Lee Thompson, we know he is a great, experienced player - she’s got speed and we think losing Munyard and Charlton we need to replace them with speed.

“Talking about speed, Amy Boyle-Carr is in the same boat; she is very much a like-for-like replacement for what we are losing with Hannah and Teah.

“Keeley Kustermann rounds out the inclusions, she was fairly stiff to be out last week and will give us a great boost to our running profile.

“Five changes seems like a lot, but we do feel that we have a squad with depth, and bringing five people in isn’t that hard for us to do.”

Hannah Ewings, Kayleigh Cronin and Rachelle Martin have been omitted.

Cronin and Martin make up the emergencies list, alongside young defender Brooke Smith

Adelaide will be itching to bounce back after a disappointing start to its 2025 campaign against St Kilda last week.

“Geelong is a very good side, we only just fell over the line against them at Geelong last year, and we think they will be right up there this year,” Harper said.

“We’re going to have our work cut out for us, and if we play like we did last week we will probably get beaten again, so the plan this week is to play a lot better.

“We always get a great turnout at Unley, it’s always a great family atmosphere and we encourage our members and supporters to come along and enjoy what will be a great game of footy.”

Adelaide takes on Geelong at Unley Oval this Sunday, with the first bounce at 2.35pm (ACST).
