Adelaide Captain Jordan Dawson recorded a fifth-place finish in the 2025 AFLCA Champion Player of the Year award, polling a total of 90 coaches’ votes.

Gold Coast midfielder Noah Anderson and Geelong on-baller Bailey Smith tied for the award with 103 votes, while Gold Coast’s Matt Rowell (97) finished second.

Collingwood midfielder Nick Daicos (96 votes) and Melbourne Captain Max Gawn (92) ended the campaign in third and fourth place, respectively.

Votes for Rounds 23 and 24 were withheld before being released as part of the AFL Awards on Thursday night.

During the Crows’ Round 23 win against Collingwood, Mark Keane polled a team-high eight coaches’ votes for his efforts down back, while Jordan Dawson and Josh Worrell were awarded two apiece.

Key forward Riley Thilthorpe caught the coaches’ eyes in Adelaide’s Round 24 victory against North Melbourne to be awarded six votes for a three-goal haul, 18 possessions and 12 marks.

Midfielder James Peatling recorded four votes after finishing the match with three goals, 19 possessions, four tackles and five marks, while forward Ben Keays (three goals, 19 disposals, five marks, six tackles), was awarded three votes.
