Kuwarna is hoping to welcome back co-captain Sarah Allan for its Round Four Indigenous Round clash with Brisbane, with the defender successfully overcoming a quad strain.
Allan was a late withdrawal in Round Two after experiencing quad awareness in the warm-up, with scans later detecting a slight strain in the muscle.
Kuwarna Head of AFLW Phil Harper said Allan was a “test” ahead of the crucial game against the Lions.
“Sarah will test herself at full pace during Tuesday’s training session and if she gets through that then she’ll join main training on Thursday,” Harper said.
Harper said speedy utility Teah Charlton would also be a test after recovering from both hamstring awareness and a bout of the flu.
“Teah’s missed the last two weeks and still has to get through training this week, but she should be right,” Harper said.
Harper also said Hannah Munyard – who was previously ruled out for the 2025 season after breaking her ankle in Round One – was making excellent progress in her rehab and could be set for an earlier-than-expected return.
“She may be back before the end of the season, but we’ll know more in about another month’s time,” he said.
