Crows utility Madison Newman has signed a one-year contract extension to remain at West Lakes until at least the end of 2026.
The 24-year-old is enjoying a stellar start to her seventh season in Crows colours, so far averaging a career-high 19.8 disposals and 4.3 marks per game.
Newman was drafted by Adelaide in 2019 and made her debut in Round One, 2020.
Adelaide’s Head of Women’s Football Phil Harper said the club was thrilled to have Newman continue in the tri-colours.
“We are pleased that Maddi has extended her contract for another year until the end of the 2026 season,” Harper said.
“Maddi has improved every year since she was drafted here for the 2020 season.
“Her improvement has come about because she has put in an enormous amount of work on her game and now with 57 games under her belt is one of our more experienced players.
“We love when she has the ball in hand because when she does good things happen for our team, and her kicking skills are elite.”
Newman, who was drafted as an 18-year-old out of SANFLW side West Adelaide, said it was a dream come true to play for the Crows.
“It was a very easy decision for me to sign on for another year,” she said.
“I love this club very much and the group of girls and I think what we have here is very special and I’m very excited to see what we can do this year.
“Playing for the Crows has been my dream ever since I was a kid and so to be able to live out my dream, I’m very grateful to the Club for giving me the opportunity and drafting me when I was 18.
“I still have so much unfinished business here and hopefully be able to win a premiership.”
