Adelaide has named an extended squad of 24 for its Round Five clash against Hawthorn at Frankston Oval on Sunday.
The Crows have added three players to its squad to take on the Hawks, with Rachelle Martin, Lily Tarlinton and Hannah Ewings included on the extended bench.
The trio is joined by India Rasheed, Brooke Boileau, Keeley Kustermann, Amy Boyle Carr and Teah Charlton on the eight-person interchange, which will be trimmed to five when the Crows confirm their team on Friday afternoon.
Adelaide will be looking to bounce back from a tough three-point loss to Brisbane last week, and maintain a positive win-loss record, as it travels to Melbourne to face the Hawks.
But the challenge will be a tough one for Senior Coach Matthew Clarke and his troops, as Hawthorn sits fourth on the ladder with a perfect 4-0 record.
Speaking to the media on Thursday, Clarke said his team was excited by the opportunity of battling the in-form Hawks.
“They are four-and-zip and playing a really strong brand of footy,” Clarke said.
“Their games have been a bit more defensive, last year they played a really free-flowing and attacking style, which they are still looking to do but what’s helping them win is their defensive shape.
“They are in good order, and have a lot of talent all over the park, so it’s going to be a great challenge for us.
“We’re in an unusual position in the sense that we are having to fight pretty early in the season to keep our head above water, but I’m really enjoying that and how our players are embracing that.”
The Crows will name their final team on Friday at 4.30pm (ACST).
Adelaide faces Hawthorn at Frankston Oval this Sunday afternoon, with the first bounce at 2.35pm ACST.
