Three-time Adelaide premiership player Chelsea Randall will miss the Crows’ clash against Gold Coast at People First Stadium, after presenting delayed concussion symptoms.

Randall suffered a knock in Adelaide’s Round Five win against Hawthorn, but passed all concussion tests performed during the match.

In the days following the game, Randall reported mild concussion symptoms and she has been placed in the League's protocols, ruling her out of this week’s game.

Speaking to the media on Thursday, Adelaide AFLW Senior Coach Matthew Clarke confirmed the news.

“Unfortunately Chels is going to miss this week, post-game she had some mild concussion symptoms and we’re going to be really cautious with her,” Clarke said.

“It was delayed concussion, within the game there was a moment where she came off, but we did a full assessment and she was cleared and ready to go.

“But subsequently across Monday and Tuesday, she presented some mild symptoms so we decided to be extra conservative and as a result she won’t play.

“Our forward structure will look significantly different as a result, and it’s not great news having Chelsea miss, but it is an exciting opportunity for our younger forwards to stand up and take on that challenge.”

Adelaide takes on Gold Coast at People First Stadium on Sunday, with the first bounce at 4.35pm ACST.
