Crows utility Hannah Munyard, who broke her ankle in Round One, has returned to running on grass as she nears a return to play.
“Hannah is tracking well ahead of where we thought she would be with such a major injury,” Crows Head of Women’s Football Phil Harper said.
“Hats off to her because she’s done everything she possibly can.
“She wants to be back by the end of the year, which would be good for her and good for us.”
Meanwhile, Harper said Georgia McKee reached a significant milestone in her return from an ACL injury on Tuesday afternoon when she also had her first run on grass.
“It’s really good to have her back running after she injured her knee in the pre-season,” he said.
Crows defender Kiera Mueller could be recalled for Sunday’s game against Richmond at IKON Park with the 22-year-old successfully overcoming an elbow injury.
Mueller had been unavailable for selection for the past fortnight after hyperextending her elbow at training, however Harper said she had now returned to full training and was available for selection.
But the side will be without Chelsea Randall this week, with the former captain remaining in the concussion protocols.
“We are being super conservative with Chelsea and diligent on the concussion protocols,” Harper said.
“We will not be taking any risks on a player’s health.”
Key forward Caitlin Gould is also progressing in her rehabilitation from a broken wrist, with her arm now out of a cast.
“She has also started some running this week, which is great for her because she’s been really keen to get back into training,” Harper said.
Injury list as of Tuesday, September 30:
Chelsea Randall (concussion) – TBC
Hannah Munyard (ankle) – 4-5 weeks
Caitlin Gould – 4-5 weeks
