Adelaide will continue to push for a deal that’s “fair for all parties” as discussions with Brisbane for Callum Ah Chee continue.
Earlier this month, Ah Chee, a two-time Brisbane premiership player, informed Adelaide he wished to join the Crows in the upcoming trade period.
Speaking to AFC Media on day six of the Continental Tyres AFL Trade Period Crows General Manager of List Management Justin Reid said the Club was working hard to facilitate a fair trade.
“We’re obviously very keen to get Callum to the Club given he’s expressed an interest to join us,” Reid said.
“He’s given great service to the Lions and as a childhood Crows fan, we’re excited to bring him into the four walls.
“We want to strike a deal that’s fair for all parties.”
Reid said the Club was always looking at options but that trades wouldn’t happen just for the sake of it.
“Every year we’re looking to explore our options and 2025 has been no different,” Reid said.
“As a Club however, we certainly won’t trade for the sake of trading.”
Reid was confident the organic growth of the playing list would have the Club continuing to compete.
“We’re really excited as a footy club about the talent we have coming through the ranks,” Reid said.
“I think this year we saw a handful of players take a really big step forward in their careers, and we’re expecting to see that again in 2026.
“Players who have shown that huge growth in 2025 are primed to improve even more next season, while we’ll also have a younger players enjoy their own breakout seasons.”
The 2025 Continental Tyres AFLT rade Period ends on Wednesday, October 15, at 7pm (ACDT).
There was a rule change ahead of this year's trade, with clubs now able to trade picks two years in advance. It means clubs can trade picks for the 2025 draft this year as well as 2026 and 2027.
The 2025 Telstra AFL Draft will then be hosted across two nights on Wednesday, November 19, and Thursday, November 20.
