The successful Kuwa Circles program has officially launched in Port Augusta this week, supported by Workskil Australia and Budget Car and Truck Rental.

The Adelaide Crows Foundation program will assist in breaking down barriers to employment for 18 male and female First Nations job seekers from the region.

Delivered in partnership with Workskil Australia, Kuwa Circles is a culturally safe, wraparound program designed to boost confidence, strengthen cultural identity, and support participants in developing practical job-readiness skills.

The four-week program combines mentoring, wellbeing support, and employment preparation, recognising that sustainable employment outcomes are built through connection, confidence, and ongoing support.

In 2025, Kuwa Circles supported 25 First Nations job seekers with positive outcomes in confidence, motivation, and readiness for work.

  • 96 per cent of participants felt confident they could find a job they would enjoy
  • 96 per cent were motivated to start work or training
  • 92 per cent remain active in employment pathways, demonstrating the program’s effective, relationship-based, long-term approach.

A key feature of the Port Augusta delivery is the integration of Kuwa Circles with community-based learning and mentoring.

“We’re excited to bring Kuwa Circles to regional communities after seeing the strong outcomes from the metro program," Workskil Australia's General Manager - Youth, Justice and Industry - Alex Apostolakis said.

“Extending the program to Port Augusta allows us to support more First Nations job seekers in a way that’s culturally safe, practical, and locally relevant.”

Workskil Australia’s partnership guarantees participants receive ongoing mentoring and employment support beyond the formal program, while Budget Car and Truck Rental’s investment helps eliminate practical barriers to participation, enhancing access, continuity, and long-term outcomes.
