Adelaide is continuing to invest in its emerging talent with defender Max Michalanney committing to a four-year contract extension.

Michalanney has become a reliable and composed presence in the Crows defence, while earning respect for his professionalism and consistency of performance.

He was Adelaide’s first father-son selection at a national draft when selected at Pick 17 in 2022.

Crows General Manager List Management Justin Reid described Michalanney as a developing leader who typifies the qualities which the Club values most.

“Max is not only a great young player but also a natural leader in the way he prepares, competes and connects with his teammates,” he said.

“His commitment to the Club reinforces the belief and trust he has in our direction and what we are building together.”

Michalanney, who will celebrate his 22nd birthday this week, said he was proud to extend his time with the Crows until 2030.

“I’ve loved every part of my journey so far at this Club,” Michalanney said.

“The environment, the people and the belief in what we’re building made this a really easy decision.

“Like everyone at the Club right now, I’m excited about what’s ahead and committed to doing everything I can to help drive success.”
