Speedy Crows midfielder Madison Newman has signed a one-year deal to extend her current contract, which sees the 24-year-old staying with the Club until at least the end of 2027.

The extra year comes on the back of a successful 2025 season that saw her finish sixth in Adelaide’s AFLW Club Champion count, averaging a career-best 19.8 disposals and 3.4 marks.

After signing a one-year contract extension last year, Newman said she didn’t hesitate to put pen to paper on an additional season in Crows colours.

“This is a special group of players and staff and now that we’re entering a new era under coach Ryan Davis, I’m excited to see what we can achieve together,” Newman said.

“For me personally, I’m a life-long Crows supporter, so the privilege of pulling on the guernsey never escapes me and I’m thrilled to be spending another two years at the Club.

“My focus is on helping myself and my teammates get the best out of ourselves both on and off the track and let’s be honest… I’d love to tick off premiership-winner one day, too.”

Newman was drafted in 2019 as an 18-year-old from West Adelaide’s SANFLW side. Making her debut in Round One 2020, she has now played 67 games for the Club across seven seasons.

Crows Head of AFLW Phil Harper applauded Newman for her hard work and dedication which had led to the contract extension.

“Maddi’s last three seasons have seen her take her game to another level, and she still wants to get better, so to have her re-sign is a positive for the club and she’s on the right trajectory,” he said.

“She’s got an elite kick, which is her weapon, and has worked hard to become an extremely important player for our team.”
