Adelaide Coaching Director Murray Davis says the Crows will need to quickly shift their focus to the upcoming Showdown after their loss to Brisbane at the Gabba on Sunday.

The Crows returned to SA on Monday morning and are facing another short turnaround with a match against crosstown rival Port Adelaide on Friday night.

Speaking to the media at Adelaide Airport, Davis said the group would review the loss to the Lions, but stressed the importance of moving on and turning attention to the next challenge.

“Our challenge is to work our way through that (what went wrong), but also have one eye on the oppo for our Friday night game,” Davis said.

“That’s a good thing, I think the players and the staff are looking forward to moving forward.

“We’ve got some work-ons, so we will spend a bit of time on it, but also our oppo for Friday.

“The good thing about it is that we were able to get our recovery in last night, a little bit again this morning, and the players will do the same today.

“We certainly know we’ve got areas (to work on). That's what happens when you play the best teams, you find out what your gaps are, and we’ll get to work on that.”

Skill errors hampered the Crows during the match against the Lions on Sunday and Davis said improving in that area would be a key focus for the week ahead.

“We weren’t at the level with our execution and good teams make you pay, so that’s what happened last night,” Davis said.

“We’ll need to get to work on that. We want the players to keep being bold with their ball movement, so we’ll work on little tweaks with that.

“We’ve got enough evidence to know that we can match it, but we’ve got to be able to do it for longer.

“That’s the challenge; being able to support your midfield group and making sure you bring enough pressure for long enough and we weren’t able to do that.”

The Crows will, however, be buoyed by the performances of midfielder Jake Soligo and utility Dan Curtin in the SANFL, with the duo getting through the game unscathed.

Soligo was working his way back from an ankle injury sustained during Gather Round, while Curtin featured in his first competitive game after pre-season knee surgery.

Murray said the coaching cohort was impressed with the pair’s performances.

“We are rapt with their performances and they’ll definitely come up for consideration,” Davis said.

“Jake was able to get his hands on the footy, and we were able to see Dan’s workrate stuff as well.

“It’s nice to have those magnets on the board and they’ll certainly be in the mix for Friday night.”

Forward Darcy Fogarty is also a chance to be considered for selection ahead of Friday night's Showdown, according to Davis.

The key forward has missed the past three games with a back injury, but is nearing a return.

"He trained really well, he had a big session on the weekend," Davis said.

"Yeah, he'll be probably one that will be putting his hand up as well, he's not too far away.

"He's probably a bit closer than a couple of the others."

The Crows will face Port Adelaide in Showdown 59 at Adelaide Oval this Friday night at 7.40pm.
