Three Crows have been nominated for the 2019 AFL Players’ Association MVP Award, with Brad Crouch, Rory Sloane and Alex Keath all nominated by their teammates.

After missing the entirety of the 2018 season with injury, Crouch shined in 2019 to average 30 disposals, five tackles and a goal a game.

The midfielder ranked fifth in the League for disposals with a total of 665 across the home and away season.

In his first year as co-captain, Sloane led his side in clearances with a team-high 131 and in tackles with 129.

He has also been nominated for Best Captain alongside his co-captain Taylor Walker.

Alex Keath also made his mark on Adelaide’s backline in 2019, averaging 16 disposals and six marks per game, three of which were intercepted from opposition kicks.

In Adelaide’s Round Eight win over Port Adelaide, Keath claimed the Showdown Medal on the back of an impressive 26 disposals, five marks and seven rebound-50s.

The former cricketer also picked up a nomination for Most Courageous, an award won by Sloane in 2017.

Adelaide’s first selection in the 2018 draft, Chayce Jones, was nominated for Best First Year.

The nomination for the MVP Award is a two-stage process.

The first involves players nominating three teammates for the award, before three nominees from every club are presented to the wider AFL playing group for a vote to decide the winner.

Players cannot vote for their own teammates in stage two of the process.

The winners will be announced on Thursday, August 29.
