Skipper Jordan Dawson’s milestone, mid-season stat leaders, and a look back at the Club's 2006 class in Scott Pendlebury's debut year headline the key numbers and historical notes from Round 11.
Dawson dominates in 100th Crows game
Captain Jordan Dawson started brilliantly in his 100th AFL game for Adelaide. He had 10 disposals and a goal in the first quarter and finished with 28 disposals and nine tackles. Dawson, who played 64 games with Sydney before joining the Crows ahead of the 2022 season, has packed plenty into his 100 games. He has won the Malcolm Blight Medal as Club Champion the past three seasons after being runner-up in his first year, kicked the winning goal after the siren in his first Showdown, was an All-Australian in 2025 and polled a club record 27 votes in last season’s Brownlow Medal. Dawson is the 65th Crow to play 100 AFL games for the Club.
Ah Chee strikes early in return
Only 12 seconds into the game, Callum Ah Chee’s AFL return from a hamstring injury started with his first goal for the Crows. Ruck Lachlan McAndrew was beaten for the tap at the opening centre ball-up but collected the bouncing football and kicked Adelaide forward. Josh Rachele then won possession and handballed to Ah Chee, who kicked on the run from about 25 metres with 19:48 on the countdown clock when the ball went over the goal umpire’s head. Unfortunately, the two-time Brisbane premiership player later suffered a thumb injury, although he did return to kick a second goal during Adelaide’s last quarter surge.
Nine Crows yet to miss a game
Nine Crows have played all 11 AFL games so far this season. Wayne Milera heads the list alongside Josh Worrell, Sam Berry, James Peating, Josh Rachele, Brayden Cook, Ben Keays, Max Michalanney and McAndrew. Milera, one of Adelaide’s best against Hawthorn, is the club’s leading disposal winner (269), and Rachele is the leading goalkicker with 18 and has most score involvements (75). Worrell has taken the most marks (70), Berry leads the tackle count (85) and ruck McAndrew is equal with Berry for the most clearances (53).
Tough Tassie record continues
Adelaide has played 13 games in Tasmania, winning four. Its record in Launceston is two wins from nine games (eight against Hawthorn). The Hawks have now won 12 consecutive games against all visitors to UTAS Stadium since its last loss, to the Crows in 2023.
Pendlebury milestone puts 2006 debuts in focus
Four Crows – Bernie Vince, Jason Porplyzia, Ivan Maric and Richard Douglas – made their AFL debut in 2006, the year Collingwood’s Scott Pendlebury started his 432-game career. Douglas had the longest AFL career of the four, playing 246 games for the Crows until he finished at the end of the 2019 season. Pendlebury, who will play a VFL/AFL record 433rd game on Saturday, has played 25 games against Adelaide in his 20-year career.
