Adelaide wing Isaac Cumming and defender Nick Murray are set to join this week’s episode of the Crows Chat podcast, as they answer a few burning questions from Crows fans.

Here’s a preview of the topics they covered.

Who’s the most inspirational player you’ve played alongside and why?

Cumming

I’m currently playing alongside him, I think it’s got to be Jordan Dawson. With everything that’s going on in his life outside of footy at the moment, and then you compare that to what he’s doing on the field, it’s nothing short of inspirational. You’d tip the hat to him if he was just going out there playing, but he’s going out there and dominating. We are seriously lucky to have him.

N Murray

I’m the same. What Cheese said, what he (Dawson) has been through this year and to partner that with not only how he’s been able to lead himself and get up for games, but lead us as well. It makes it pretty easy to go out there and play when you’ve got that guy leading you.

Which player at the Adelaide Crows needs more recognition outside the four walls?

Cumming

I’m going to have to give James Peatling the nod here. I don’t know if a lot of people notice what he’s been doing for the past two months, but often going to the oppo’s best mid at stoppage and nullifying them, but still being able to have a serious impact off his own boot.

He’s seriously tough as well. He puts his head over it, plays defence, tackles, and I reckon he deserves a bit of love.

N Murray

I’m going to go my boy Zac Taylor, the big Milk Taylor. He plays a pretty crucial role for us. He just gets up and down the forward line and he may not get that many touches, but I think when he does get the ball, his ability to be composed and clean is something that I have definitely noticed. For someone of his age, he’s definitely very mature in that sense.

If you could choose one thing to be changed about the AFL what would that be?

Cumming

“The new last touch throw-in - I don’t mind the rule, but I hate that if it touches a shoelace, then it’s a free kick. I think if it’s a disposal, then it’s oppo kick, but if it’s just scraping a boot, then throw-in.

N Murray

Mine’s a bit left-field, I’m saying bring back the NAB Cup rule where if it hits the goal post, it’s play-on.

If you had to choose one Crow to complete a marathon under three hours, who would it be?

Cumming

Nibbler (Alex Neal-Bullen) is my answer. He’s the best runner at the club, but also you’ve got to be mentally different, and he’s exactly that as well, he’s made out of the right stuff, so Nibbler would get it done.

N Murray

I’m going to go (No.) 28, Alex Neal-Bullen, he’d be doing 3.30 splits. I would put my house and all of my savings on the fact he’d get that done.

Craziest pre-game ritual you or a teammate has had?

Cumming

I used to have to wear black ankle socks. I did one game and played very, very well, and for some reason I thought it was because of the black ankle socks. For about two years, they were (worn) under my footy socks.

N Murray

Mine early days used to be I had to listen to the same song as I’d get out of the car. It was weird. I have moved on from that, thankfully.

Both being country NSW boys, who would struggle to drive a manual at the Adelaide Football Club?

Cumming

I’d expect all of those blokes (that Murray would say) won’t know how to drive one, but I had to drive JP’s (James Peatling) car maybe last year and that’s a manual. I loved it, good to get back on the gears.

N Murray

I have a list, in no particular order:

Josh Worrell, Reilly O’Brien, Ben Keays, Sid Draper, Dan Curtin, Charlie Edwards, Mark Keane, Lachie Sholl, Rory Laird, Tyler Welsh, Max Michaelanney, Jake Soligo, and Isaac Cumming.
