Adelaide will play its first match simulation of the pre-season against Fremantle in Perth on Friday afternoon, as it continues to ramp its preparations for the 2026 AFLW season.

Crows Executive General Manager AFLW Bree Brock said the team was looking forward to playing an opposition for the first time under new Senior Coach Ryan Davis.

“This will be our first look at the team under Ryan’s stewardship, and we will be trying players in different positions and getting prepared for our game plan come Round One on August 16,” Brock said.

“We will have all of our eight new Crows – Grace Egan, Chloe Bown, Lucy Waye, Liv Gorman, Alicia Blizard, Ava Stewart, Juliet Kelly and Alice Tentye – playing in the match sim and we look forward to seeing them pulling on the Adelaide guernsey for the first time.”

The Crows play four trial games ahead of Round One, including its official practice match against St Kilda at Unley Oval on Saturday, July 25.

After facing Fremantle on Friday, Adelaide also plays West Coast on July 18 and Port Adelaide on August 2, with both match simulations to be played at West Lakes from 2pm.

Adelaide will open its 2026 AFLW campaign at Unley Oval against Sydney on Sunday, August 16.
