Adelaide Senior Coach Matthew Nicks has confirmed defender Hugo Hall-Kahan will come into the team for the Round 19 match against Sydney at the SCG on Friday night.
Hall-Kahan, who was managed for last weekend’s game against the Suns, will be recalled this weekend, following veteran Rory Laird sustaining a low-grade syndesmosis injury.
“We’ll train today and (if) everything goes well… Hugo will come back in,” Nicks told the media on Tuesday.
“He (Hall-Kahan) was managed for a week, the plan was for Lairdy to be managed this week, unfortunately that’s been taken out of our hands.”
Hall-Kahan has lined up in five AFL matches for the Crows since being selected by the Club at the Mid-Season Rookie Draft in June.
The 22-year-old will now get a chance to face off against his former side after spending 18 months on the Swans’ list following their selection of him in the 2022 Mid-Season Rookie Draft.
“It’s nice for him (Hall-Kahan), it’s where he started his footy, that was his first opportunity.” Nicks said.
“Although it didn’t work out for him, he knows exactly why, but he loved his time at Sydney, as did I, so we share some stories about our time there.”
Adelaide will announce its full Round 19 team on Thursday at 5.50pm (ACST).
The Crows face the Swans at the SCG on Friday at 7.10pm (ACST), with the game to be broadcast live on Channel 7 Adelaide, Fox Footy and Kayo.
