Adelaide assistant coach Scott Burns says veteran forward Taylor Walker will be firmly in the mix for a recall when the Crows face Collingwood at Adelaide Oval on Thursday night.

Walker was managed for the win against Sydney, but Burns said the veteran forward was expected to push for an immediate return against Collingwood, particularly if Darcy Fogarty's suspension is upheld.

“There’s that opportunity, he had nine shots on goal two weeks earlier, so he’s in a bit of form,” Burns said.

“We managed him (for) Sydney, he's not getting any younger, and we just want to make sure that when he's playing senior footy, he's as fresh and sharp as he can be.

“Tex is a very good wet weather player as well, though he's very smart in wet weather as well. 

“I think it looks like it may be wet Thursday night, so we'll wait and see how he goes in those conditions.”

No decisions, however, would be made until the Crows’ main training session was completed on Monday afternoon, according to Burns.

“We still haven’t finalised everything yet, we're going through training at the moment,” Burns said.

“What you see out of training won't be what's happening Thursday night, there'll be players in, players out, we'll discuss things after training and come in and have a look at that very closely.

“The SANFL have only had five days, so we've just got to make sure we get through this training session today, analyse where the players are at, and discuss tactics and strategies a little bit more.”

The Crows’ win against the Swans, which broke Sydney’s home game winning streak, was built off the back of a full team performance, with everyone playing their role.

Burns was particularly impressed with key forward Riley Thilthorpe’s performance, with the 24-year-old beginning to hit his straps.

“He's been on his way for a little while to get back to that form, it was really disappointing that West Coast game when he got crook the morning of the game because I thought he was taking steps there even the week before,” Burns said.

“He crashed that pack and completely knocked everyone over, then (Izak) Rankin picked it up and snapped it in front of goal, so he hasn't been too far off.

“It was pleasing on the weekend, there were some really important marks and moments by both Darcy (Fogarty) and Riley.

“The conditions probably didn't suit talk forwards, but they both stood pretty tall in that game.”

The Crows will be looking to maintain their striking distance with the top four with a win against the Magpies.

Adelaide faces Collingwood at Adelaide Oval on Thursday at 7pm.
