Adelaide’s win over Richmond included two milestone moments, a career-best performance and another strong showing from the Crows faithful.

Rankine raises the bar

Izak Rankine stood out in the rain with career-best numbers for disposals (36), metres gained (795) and clearances (11). Ruck Reilly O’Brien was the only player from either side to hold more than one contested mark, grabbing two pack marks in his second AFL game of the season. Isaac Cumming went at 93 per cent efficiency with his 15 disposals and defender Max Michalanney covered a game-high 15km.

Cook reaches 50

Brayden Cook played his 50th AFL game on Saturday night, five years and one day after his AFL debut in Showdown 50 in 2021. The South Adelaide junior and lifelong Crows fan played 12 games in his first three seasons, then 15 in 2024 and three in 2025. This year, however, the 24-year-old has played 20 of a possible 21 games, mainly on the wing. Cook collected 20 disposals against Richmond. 

Dawson hits 100

Jordan Dawson kicked his 100th AFL goal in the second quarter. The Crows captain booted 34 goals in 64 games for Sydney before joining Adelaide, where he has added 66 goals in 110 games. Dawson had an equal career-high 35 disposals on Saturday night. 

Tex closes in

Taylor Walker’s two goals lifted him to a career total of 706, one behind Collingwood Team of the Century forward Dick Lee, who is ranked 26th in VFL/AFL history.  

Crowd keeps showing up

The weather was miserable but the 42,762 crowd at Adelaide Oval maintained the club’s run of 40,000-plus attendances at every home game this season. Richmond had won its previous two games against the Crows at Adelaide Oval, in 2023 and 2024. Adelaide has now won six from 10 clashes with the Tigers at the venue.
