Former Crow Brodie Smith has now traded the footy field for media streets, but it appears his sources inside West Lakes remain as reliable as ever.

Joining Triple M's Crows Chat podcast this week, Adelaide defenders Nick Murray and wing Isaac Cumming were tasked with delivering a verdict on one of Smith's more extraordinary stories - a recent prank allegedly involving veteran Taylor Walker, a can of foul-smelling spray, and a team meeting that was forced to be moved.

Smith had claimed Walker was responsible for unleashing a notorious "fart spray" inside a meeting room before players and coaches were due to gather for a team meeting.

Cumming was quick to let everyone know Smith’s intel was correct.

"It is true, and Smithers has told it very well considering he wasn't even there, but he's absolutely nailed it," Cumming said.

“I remember coming out of the gym, and the door where you first step into the footy club, which is a long way away from that room where Tex initially sprayed it, but it (the smell) hit me like a tonne of bricks when I opened this door, and it's miles away from the room/

“This smell, it was no joke.”

Murray said the team meeting had to be moved because the smell was that bad.

“It properly smelled like gas, and I was like, ‘geez, what's that?’,” Murray said

“We’ve all vacated to the hub, which is in the other room, and had to do all the meetings from there.”

Cumming said the smell was so severe staff initially feared there could be a gas leak.

“I think emergency services might have been called to really make sure everything was okay because this smell was that bad, and (integrity officer John Schultz) Schultzy was obviously worried that there was a leak,” Cumming said.

“I don't think they (emergency services) ended up rocking up, but it was handled very seriously because of how bad the stench was.”

The pair also recalled another prank of Walker’s from last year played on Josh Worrell, when a small device resembling a wing nut was placed inside the defender’s car's muffler, causing it to whistle whenever he accelerated.
